Grooms Cake

Originally Wedding cakes were traditionally white cake and Groom's cakes were added to give an option to cake flavors, usually chocolate cake. The Groom's cake eventually evolved into fun cakes as a way for the Groom to have his own special part of the Reception or even the rehearsal dinner.

The cake often hints at some aspect of the Groom’s personality or interests. If the Groom loves football,  the cake can be something football oriented like a football or his favorite teams'  field or logo. If music is his interest, then possibly a instrument or sheet music would bean ideal cake option. … endless possibilities!
The bride usually orders the Groom’s cake from the same baker who is providing the wedding cake. If the Groom was in on the original decision, the Bride can contact the bakery for an additional designing appointment to order the cake.

The Bride usually keeps the design of the cake a secret until the wedding day or rehearsal dinner.

Some grooms prefer to order the Groom’s cake themselves, keeping it a secret from the Bride, depicting how they first met , where they were engaged, something that is meaningful to them both. Either way, the Groom’s cake can be a fun part of the wedding celebration.
Serving the Groom’s cake at the rehearsal dinner as the dessert or to display both the wedding cake and the Groom’s cake at the wedding are both acceptable ways to present the Grooms Cake.
